The number of men having cosmetic surgery is reportedly on the rise, with male breast reduction surgery leading the way.
Liposuction, eyelid surgery and nose jobs are rising in popularity along with “moob” reduction surgery; as cosmetic surgery amongst men is becoming repeatedly fashionably.
Ten years ago, male surgery was very rare; but now one in ten cosmetic procedure performed are on men.
This is due to less stigma being associated with the surgery being performed on males, and men are becoming more aware of their own appearance.
The number of cosmetic surgeries amongst older people, with procedures being conducted on patients over 65 up by 45 per cent last year than the figures in 2007. It is believed that this is due to the fact people are living longer, healthier lives and want their appearance to reflect this.
It has been predicted by surgeons that these figures will continue to rise in the future, due to the advancement of plastic surgery. This means surgeons are a lot more capable of performing much more natural and discreet age reducing surgeries than previously seen.
